Teacher Bio

Meet Ms. Hancock...
I am so excited to be a part of the Cambridge family!  I am the proud Mother of two amazing daughters.  They are in the 8th and 6th grades this year in Alamo Heights.
This is my 11th year to teach at Cambridge and I love our school community!  I have been teaching for 22 years and am happy to be starting my 23rd year of teaching here with all of our children in Alamo Heights.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Early Childhood Education.  I have taught many grades including Kindergarten for 7 years and 1st grade for 2 years.  I hold a Masters of Science Degree in Reading and am both a certified Reading Specialist and Master Reading Teacher (MRT).  I have worked as a Reading Specialist and MRT at Lake Dallas High School with at-risk 9th-12th graders and in McKinney ISD with 3rd-5th graders who needed intervention in Math, Reading, Writing, and Science.  I have been a special education case manager and resource teacher here at Cambridge since joining the AHISD family in the Fall of 2008.  I have really missed having my own little "tribe" and am excited about moving back to a classroom teaching position this school year.
I recently completed a second Masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis and additional certification as a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) through the Texas Teaching Institute at the Burkhart Center for Autism Education & Research- Texas Tech University.
I am passionate about the opportunity I have here at Cambridge to advocate for and teach all students.  I am blessed and so excited to be a part of this amazing 2nd Grade team at Cambridge.  I look forward to getting to know you this year!

"Character is our SUPER POWER!"

Warmest Regards,

Ms. Stefnie Hancock, M.Ed.
