Teacher Bio

Meet Ms. Hancock...
I am so excited to be a part of the Cambridge family!  I am the proud Mother of two amazing daughters.  They are in the 7th and 5th grades this year in Alamo Heights.  My 7th grader loves the Junior School and they both agree that Cambridge Elementary is the "best elementary school in the whole world".  (I cannot argue with them!)
This is my 10th year to teach at Cambridge and I love our school community!  I have been teaching for 21 years and am happy to be starting my 22nd year of teaching here with all of our children in Alamo Heights.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Early Childhood Education.  I have taught many grades including Kindergarten for 7 years and 1st grade for 2 years.  I hold a Masters of Science Degree in Reading and am both a certified Reading Specialist and Master Reading Teacher (MRT).  I have worked as a Reading Specialist and MRT at Lake Dallas High School with at-risk 9th-12th graders and in McKinney ISD with 3rd-5th graders who needed intervention in Math, Reading, Writing, and Science.
I am currently working toward a second Masters degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis and additional certification as a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) through the Texas Teaching Institute at the Burkhart Center for Autism Education & Research- Texas Tech University.
I am passionate about the opportunity I have here at Cambridge to advocate for and teach students with a variety of challenges.  I feel so lucky to be a part of our Special Education team at Cambridge.  I look forward to getting to know you this year!

"Cambridge Rocks Kindness!"

Warmest Regards,

Ms. Stefnie Hancock, M.S., MRT
