About Mrs. Jackson

Hi! I am Mrs. Jackson!

I am SO happy to be here at Cambridge and in Alamo Heights ISD!!! I am joining Cambridge from SAISD, where I have been teaching 4th grade for 8 years. 4th grade is such a transformational year for children. They grow, learn, and mature in ways that is amazing to watch.

I received my bachelors degree from the University of North Texas, in Business Merchandising. After working in the business world for a few years, I decided that teaching was where my heart was. You see, teaching is sort of ingrained in my DNA. I come from a long line of teachers, and grew up in the halls of an elementary school. My mom was the elementary school counselor, and I spent many late nights, early mornings, summer days, and weekends playing in the halls of my school. I learned first hand the dedication and hard work that goes in to being a teacher. It is a job I feel very proud of.

In 2007 I received my teaching certification through I Teach Texas, and I have never looked back. I am SIOP certified, GT certified, Telpas certified, I have served as math lead, PBIS co-chair as well as served on numerous committees. I have previously sponsored the Zumba club, a Creative Writing club, Drumfit, and an after school intervention program.

Besides the academic core subjects, I also integrate social and emotional skills into the classroom. I teach the concept of Growth Mindset, use positive affirmations, mindfulness, character education and emotional intelligence. The goal is to create a well rounded child, both academically strong and mentally strong.

I am so excited to start building meaningful, safe and trusting relationships with your child!

Gratefully,
Mrs. Jackson
