Meet Ms. Hancock...

"Color Our World With Character!"
I am so excited to be a part of the Cambridge family! Both of my children attend school here in Alamo Heights and have loved being at Howard ECC, Cambridge, AHJS, and now at AHHS. My two daughters will be at AHHS this year in 11th and 9th grade and look forward to new facilities opening, the opportunity to support the Mules at sporting events, and new experiences in learning.
This is my 14th year to teach at Cambridge and I love our school community! I have been teaching for 24 years and am happy to be starting my 25th year of teaching here with all of our children in Alamo Heights.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Early Childhood Education. I have taught many grades including Kindergarten for 7 years, 1st grade for 2 years, and am beginning my fourth year in 2nd grade.
I hold a Masters of Science Degree in Reading and am both a certified Reading Specialist and Master Reading Teacher (MRT). I have worked as a Reading Specialist and MRT at Lake Dallas High School with at-risk 9th-12th graders and in McKinney ISD with 3rd-5th graders. I recently completed a second Masters degree in Special Education at Texas Tech University's Texas Teaching Institute through the Burkhart Center for Autism Education & Research with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA/BCBA)
I began my journey here at Cambridge as a special education teacher in 2008. I have a passion for helping all children reach their potential and love to challenge students to be curious and take chances when learning.
I have really enjoyed moving back into a classroom teaching role where I can support all children. I cannot wait to kick off a new year in 2nd grade with you and your children.
I look forward to getting to know you this year!
Warmest Regards,
Ms. Stefnie Hancock, M.Ed./M.S.
